Agentic remediation in AppSec: how fix agents compare

ANSWER FIRST

Agentic remediation means an AI agent writes the fix for a security finding, not only the alert. Legit Security, Snyk, GitHub, Cycode, Aikido and Apiiro all describe fix agents or AI fixes; they differ in what they fix, where the fix lands and whether the vendor says the fix is validated.

Why are vendors building fix agents now?

Coding assistants raise the volume of code and, with it, the volume of findings. A queue that grows faster than a team can work it is the problem most of these products now target: instead of only reporting an issue, the tool proposes the change. The approaches differ enough that a buyer should ask each vendor the same few questions, listed at the end of this note.

Fix agents also sit close to the coding agents this site scores on guardrails. A remediation agent that writes a change is itself an agent writing code, so the same controls apply to it: its pull requests should pass the same SAST, SCA and secrets checks as any other, and its access to repositories should be scoped like any other automated account.

What does each vendor describe?

Legit Security. On 16 June 2026 Legit introduced Agentic AppSec, with remediation agents that prioritize and fix SAST and SCA findings and then re-scan to confirm the issue is resolved. Legit describes remediation as the first step in automating more of AppSec work.

Snyk. On 4 August 2026 Snyk put a remediation agent into public preview through the Snyk CLI and agentic development environments, described as fixing vulnerabilities automatically. Snyk presents it as a first look at Evo Agentic AppSec.

GitHub. Copilot Autofix is part of GitHub Code Security. GitHub's agentic autofix, in public preview, addresses code scanning alerts. On 9 September 2026 GitHub made agentic autofix generally available for Code Quality findings: a developer can assign up to 25 findings to Copilot at once, and Copilot fixes them on a branch, validates its own changes and opens a pull request for review. On 25 September 2026 it began storing fix patterns in Copilot Memory for customers who have it enabled, so later fixes in the same repository can reuse them.

Cycode. Cycode's AI Fix and Remediation Agent analyzes the root cause of a finding and proposes fixes that match the codebase's frameworks, coding patterns and naming conventions, producing PR-ready changes. It sits in Cycode Maestro next to the AI Exploitability Agent, which checks whether a CVE is reachable.

Aikido Security. AutoFix opens pull requests with fixes, and the free Developer plan includes 10 AI AutoFixes a month.

Apiiro. Apiiro lists AutoFix in its platform and makes AutoFix free for open source maintainers.

How do they compare?

Fix agents as described on public vendor pages, September 2026. "Not stated" means the page reviewed does not say; it does not mean the product lacks it.

What should a buyer ask about a fix agent?

  • Is the fix checked before it reaches a reviewer? Legit says its agents re-scan, and GitHub says Copilot validates its own Code Quality fixes; ask the others.
  • Where does the fix land: a pull request, a CLI session or the agent's own editor? A pull request keeps the normal review and required checks in the path.
  • Which finding types does it fix: first-party code (SAST), dependencies (SCA), code quality, or all three?
  • Does it learn from accepted fixes? GitHub now stores fix patterns in Copilot Memory; Cycode matches existing patterns and naming.
  • Who approves the change, and can automatic fixes be limited to certain severities or repositories?
  • What does it cost? Aikido publishes an AutoFix allowance on its free plan; the other pages we reviewed do not price fix agents separately.

How does this affect our scores?

Remediation is not a separate criterion in our method. Where a fix agent appeared on a vendor's pages at review time, it is part of that vendor's code coverage reason, as with Cycode's AI Fix and Remediation Agent. Several of the dates above are recent, and we re-check headline features every quarter. How we rate explains the criteria, and the news page tracks new releases.
