How does Legit Security score?
| Criterion | Weight | Score | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coverage of AI-generated code and AI coding assistants | 25% | 5.0 / 5 | VibeGuard discovers every AI model, code assistant, MCP server and skill on developer endpoints and runs SAST and SCA in the IDE. Legit names Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf and Amazon Q Developer. Codex: supported (per Legit). |
| Endpoint deployment and tamper resistance | 20% | 5.0 / 5 | VibeGuard 2.0 is built "as a full desktop app, and not as a plugin", and its anti-tampering stops agents or threat actors "from disabling VibeGuard". A secrets MCP backed by the OS keychain scopes credentials to the session and keeps them out of agent history and memory. |
| Governance and policy control for the CISO | 20% | 4.5 / 5 | A central management console lets security teams approve, block or flag assistants, models and MCP servers and enforce custom or built-in command policies. Audit-log detail specific to VibeGuard is not covered on the public pages reviewed; the platform states an audit trail for policy compliance. Ask Legit for specifics during evaluation. |
| Developer experience and low friction | 15% | 3.5 / 5 | Reaches developers through the IDE, a CLI and MCP, and surfaces dangerous operations for the developer to decide rather than blocking them silently, but there is no free or self-serve tier. |
| Pricing and buying clarity | 10% | 2.5 / 5 | No price on Legit's own site. AWS Marketplace lists all modules with 24/7 support for 100 users at $60,000 for 12 months (marketplace price). |
| Remediation and ASPM depth | 10% | 5.0 / 5 | Agentic remediation fixes first-party SAST and dependency (SCA) findings and opens pull requests; risk is ranked by business context and reachability, and findings from existing scanners are consolidated. |

What does Legit Security do for AI-generated code?
Legit Security is an application security posture management (ASPM) platform. It connects to source control, CI/CD and existing scanners, runs its own SAST, SCA and secrets detection, and scores findings by business and exposure context. Its AI code security work sits in VibeGuard, which Legit launched in Q4 2025 and updated to VibeGuard 2.0 on 3 August 2026.
VibeGuard works at two points. In the IDE and AI assistant, it runs SAST and SCA as code is generated, keeps API keys and tokens from being shared with AI systems, and lets security teams attach security instruction files to the assistant. On the developer endpoint, VibeGuard 2.0 discovers coding agents, monitors and enforces commands against built-in or custom policy, blocks dangerous operations, covers MCP security and skill discovery, and resists being disabled.
