1. Who is responsible
Best AI Code Security (bestaicodesecurity.com) is published by Alegria Media and Consulting Ltd. ("we", "us"). We decide how the personal data described here is used and act as its controller. You can reach us only through the contact form.
2. What we collect
The site has no user accounts, no payments and no comments. You can read every page and use the calculator and comparison tools without giving us any personal data. What we do handle is limited to the following.
- Contact form messages: the name, email address, topic and message you enter, and for copyright notices the extra details the form asks for. The form also contains a hidden anti-spam field that real visitors leave empty.
- Technical data logged by our hosting provider: IP address, browser and device details, the pages requested and the time of each request. These logs exist to deliver and secure the site.
- Browser storage: none. The calculator and comparison tools keep your choices in the page itself or in the page address (for example ?v=snyk, semgrep on the side-by-side page). They do not write cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage, and nothing is sent to us when you use them.
- Fonts: pages load typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). When the fonts load, Google receives your IP address and browser details, as with any web request. Google's own privacy policy applies to that data.
The site loads no analytics, advertising, social media or other tracking scripts.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR we rely on legitimate interests to operate and secure the site, keep it available and answer the messages you send us. Where a law requires consent for a particular use, we will ask for it first, and you can withdraw it at any time.
4. Who receives it
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that run the site on our behalf.
- The form delivery provider that forwards contact messages to us, once one is connected.
- Public authorities, where the law requires us to disclose data.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep contact messages only as long as we need them to handle your request, then delete them. Server logs are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider and are then removed automatically.
7. Your rights
EU and UK readers can ask to access, correct or delete their data, restrict or object to its use, receive it in a portable format and withdraw consent. You can also complain to your local data protection supervisory authority.
California residents have rights under the CCPA as amended by the CPRA: to know what personal information we hold, to delete and correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither) and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
You may also have rights under other privacy laws that apply to you.
To use any of these rights, send a message through the contact form and choose the topic "Privacy request". We may ask for details to confirm the request is yours.
8. Children
The site is written for professionals and is not directed to children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If what the site collects changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our Cookie Policy.
